At Tanganyika Estate Agents, we believe in the concept of focusing and hence, our services are fairly limited in scope. In short, we do the following; Sale of houses, apartments, commercial properties, plots and land Renting of residential and commercial properties Advisory services to landlords, tenants, sellers and buyers We are a small, diverse and dedicated team that try hard to deliver a good service. The Tanzanian property market is characterized by non-transparency and we guide our clients in this landscape, making sure all necessary steps and measures are taken without exposing our clients to financial risks. Further, we only list properties at prices that we have agreed to and believe are close to fair market value. Tanzania is a market where sellers often ask for unrealistic values, just to end up getting paid far less than the original asking price. In our world, this is a harmful behaviour for all parties in the market (including the sellers) and something we are trying to counter to improve the functionality of the market. We also try and keep transaction costs at a minimum. We are hands-on involved in the deals we are brokering and are at all times transparent. Our clients […]

About Julius Nyerere International Airport Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) is the largest and the busiest International Airport in Tanzania, located in Dar es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania. The airport is one of the 58 government owned airports and airstrips, operated, developed and managed by Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA). JNIA is about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) southwest of the city. The airport was formally known as Dar es Salaam International Airport (DIA) before it was renamed in 2006 in honor of Julius Kambarage Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania who died in 1999. The airport saves flights to and from different destinations including Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Currently there are two terminals, terminal one and terminal two. The government is constructing terminal three (TB III) which will be the largest terminal at JNIA with a capacity of handling up to 6,000,000 passengers annually. HISTORY The Sea-Port and Mkeje Aerodrome According to tradition, it not easy to find scripts that can verify accurately the date of the first airport. However, few available scripts show the first airport of the city of Dar es Salaam was a “sea port”. This compound was on the […]
