Airport Security Your safety and security is a priority for the Somali Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority. When travelling by plane you will be required to go through Passenger Security Screening for a security check. This security check is related to what you are allowed to take with you on board an aircraft. This is to ensure that you are not carrying any potentially dangerous substances or items that could pose a risk to the passengers and crew or to the security and safety of the aircraft. Passengers are advised to carry just ONE piece of hand luggage. Sharp objects should be removed from carry-on luggage and placed in checked-in luggage. Chancellors Message In response to the mentioned situations, Kismayo University was founded in the seaport city of Kismayo to be the first university ever established in southwestern region of Somalia on September 2005. When the Somali Central Government collapsed in 1991, all the educational institutions and other public properties ware destroyed. This has caused mass migration of Somali intellectuals from the country, Years later some of the Somali intellectuals recognized the needs of the regions that reasonable stable and has started quite number of primary and secondary schools. Consequently non-profit making organization have been established to meet the educational needs of those graduates from the local schools in the wartorn country. In response to the mentioned situations, Kismayo University was founded in the seaport city of Kismayo to be the first university ever established in southwestern region of Somalia on September 2005.
