HISTORY OF THE MAIN HOSPITAL OF DAKAR the project for the construction of the hospital dates back to 1862 and work began in 1880 with the closure of Gorée hospital suspected of maintaining the epidemic risk following the tragic outbreak of yellow fever in 1878 that hit Goree and Dakar, then Rufisque and St. Louis, who had made 750 deaths. Located on the Dakar peninsula, on the edge of Bernard Cove, the Hospital was inaugurated in August 1884.
